Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay launched a sharp attack on both Congress and BRS on Saturday, calling them “two sides of the same coin” and accusing them of jointly misleading the public over the Kaleshwaram project.
Speaking to media in Karimnagar, Sanjay alleged that the Congress-led state government is acting as a shield for KCR’s family. Despite available evidence of corruption in the Kaleshwaram project, KCR remains untouched, he said.
He reiterated BJP’s position on the issue: “Narendra Modi’s stand is BJP’s stand. We are not an opportunistic party that changes its policy at convenience.”
Sanjay claimed the project, originally estimated at ₹38,000 crore, was inflated to ₹1.2 lakh crore, turning it into a source of massive graft. He described it as an ATM for KCR’s family.
He urged the public to question how some officials involved in the project amassed hundreds of crores if there was no corruption. “People now understand the collusion between Congress and BRS,” he said, adding that the mood was shifting: “Everyone’s had a chance now give BJP the mandate.”
He defended the National Dam Safety Authority, calling it a constitutional body unlike what he said was KCR’s habit of bypassing accountability. He mocked KCR for earlier calling himself the top engineer and doctor but now shifting responsibility to cabinet decisions as probes intensify.
