CM Revanth Reddy issues key orders to ministers ahead of Telangana local polls

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday instructed Congress ministers and district in-charges to focus fully on the upcoming Telangana local body polls. His orders came even as the election notification was issued while the 42% BC reservation issue remains under the Telangana High Court’s purview.

During a Zoom meeting chaired by PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, Revanth Reddy urged leaders to prioritize local elections. He asked in-charge ministers to remain in their constituencies and not stay in Hyderabad. “Work on the ground and strengthen local coordination,” he told them.

Revanth Reddy advised ministers to identify and resolve local issues through talks with MLAs. He told leaders with nomination doubts to consult the party’s legal cell. He also instructed them to follow court hearings closely on the reservation matter.

The Chief Minister said the party will begin the poll process as soon as the court delivers its order. He told ministers to finalize candidates carefully, issue B-forms, and collect no-dues certificates without delay.

He asked in-charge ministers to discuss each name with senior leaders before approval. Revanth Reddy set a Thursday night deadline for preparing the first list of candidates.

He added that the PCC will take the final call on MPP and ZP chairman posts. He warned party members not to make any public political announcements until the leadership decides.
