Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy led the formal launch. State Minister for IT, Electronics, Communications, Industries, and Commerce Duddilla Sridhar Babu, along with Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi, were also present.

Google has launched its second Google Safety Engineering Center (GSEC) in the Asia-Pacific, setting it up in Hyderabad after Tokyo and marking its fifth such hub globally.

The new Hyderabad facility is designed to be a global cybersecurity powerhouse, with a sharp focus on building next-gen tools to keep users safe online. It’ll be a nerve center for digital security research, especially in the fast-evolving world of AI, as Google ramps up efforts to tackle emerging threats with smarter, more adaptive tech.

The centre is expected to act as a platform for global experts in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, offering collaborative infrastructure for developing safety products.

According to government officials, the project will create significant employment in Telangana’s IT sector, both directly through hiring and indirectly through supporting industries and services.
