Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has issued a high alert in view of heavy rains Telangana over the next two days, based on forecasts from the meteorological department.
The Chief Minister directed all district collectors and line departments to stay on continuous alert. He stressed the need for regular monitoring and immediate response to rain-related risks, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Officials were instructed to inspect causeways, identify flood-prone roads, and pre-emptively stop traffic if necessary. The CM also advised relocating people from low-lying areas to rehabilitation centres in advance to avoid emergencies.
The electricity department was asked to take extra precautions to prevent outages and ensure safety. Instructions included securing loose power lines and preventing electrocution hazards.
Despite the ongoing Dasara holidays, educational institutions were urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions. Citizens have been advised to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary.
In Hyderabad, the CM directed the GHMC and HYDRAA, along with NDRF and SDRF teams, to remain fully prepared for emergency response.
