CM Revanth Reddy grants job to daughter of slain constable after 19-year wait

Hyderabad: After nearly two decades of waiting, a Warangal family has finally seen justice. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has approved a long-delayed government job for B. Rajashree, whose father, Head Constable B. Bheem Singh, was killed in an encounter back in 1996.

Bheem Singh died in the line of duty on September 24 that year. His daughter had applied several times for a job under compassionate grounds, but for years, the file never moved. Successive governments cited technical reasons and procedural gaps to keep it in limbo.

It wasn’t until Wardhannapet MLA N. Nagraju raised the issue with the current Chief Minister that things began to shift. Moved by the long wait and what officials described as a clear case of bureaucratic oversight, Revanth Reddy asked for the procedural blocks to be removed.

Within days, orders were issued. Rajashree was appointed Junior Assistant in the state’s Home Department, closing the chapter on what had become a 19-year wait.

She met the Chief Minister on Monday, flanked by her family, to thank him for stepping in. MLA Nagraju, who had taken up her cause, was there too. For Rajashree, the appointment isn’t just about employment – it’s a long-delayed nod to her father’s service.
