Hyderabad, February 1: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has criticised the Union Budget 2025-26, accusing the Centre of neglecting the state’s interests.
A few hours after the budget was presented in Parliament, he held a detailed discussion at the Integrated Command Control Centre in Banjara Hills with ministers and top officials on the budget and other key issues.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, and other leaders were present at the meeting. According to sources, Revanth Reddy expressed strong displeasure over the budget, stating that Telangana ministers and officials had repeatedly appealed to the Union government over the past year for adequate allocations to various departments. Despite submitting detailed budget proposals, he questioned how much of the requested funds had actually been granted by the Centre.
Before this meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the upcoming MLC elections for Graduate and Teacher constituencies, as well as the Panchayat Raj elections. He urged ministers to ensure coordination between the government and the party, advising district in-charge ministers and MLAs to work together closely. He emphasised the need for greater publicity of the state’s welfare schemes and a strong rebuttal of opposition criticism.
