CM Revanth announces ₹1 lakh aid for families of deceased in Pashamylaram blast

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced ₹1 lakh as immediate financial assistance for the families of those killed in the reactor blast at the Sigaachi Pharma facility in Pashamylaram. Injured workers will receive ₹50,000 each.

“This is not compensation, but immediate assistance,” the Chief Minister told officials during his visit to the site. He also directed that the injured receive full medical treatment at the government’s expense. The children of those who died in the incident will be given admissions in government-run residential schools.

Revanth Reddy was accompanied by Labour Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy, Health Minister Damodar Raja Narsimha and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. He reviewed the site and questioned officials from the Factories Department on the frequency and effectiveness of inspections. He ordered a detailed report on the blast and instructed officials to involve external experts for a thorough inspection of industrial units across the area. A follow-up report identifying safety lapses was also requested.

The Chief Minister asked line departments to coordinate closely to accelerate rescue and clearance operations. “Locating bodies, clearing debris, and ensuring safety is a challenge. All departments must work together and proceed carefully,” he said.

Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu criticised the company’s top management for failing to be present during the official inspection. “It is such a fatal incident and your top management is absent. If they are so busy with other work, why should they set up factories?” he said, addressing representatives on site.
