Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy declared that Telangana will conduct the upcoming Godavari and Krishna Pushkarams on a grand scale, starting with the Saraswati Maha Pushkarams now underway. Speaking from Kaleshwaram’s Triveni Sangam known as the Dakshina Prayag of Telangana he said the state had initiated its preparations through these sacred waters.
Calling it a privilege to participate, Revanth said this marked the first Saraswati Pushkarams since the formation of Telangana. He announced plans to develop the region into a model pilgrimage and tourism site and instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive master plan for its growth.
He said the government was committed to preserving cultural heritage and traditions for future generations. “The Godavari river is a natural blessing to this area,” he said. “If the Pushkarams are to be successful, it’s the state’s duty to provide every facility for incoming devotees.”
He promised no shortage of funds. When Minister D Sridhar Babu requested ₹100 crore for temple and tourism development, Revanth offered ₹200 crore instead. “Even if it means releasing it through the green channel, we’re ready,” he said. “I’m taking full responsibility for it.”

Revanth also promised lavish arrangements for the upcoming Godavari and Krishna Pushkarams, as well as the Sammakka Saralamma jatara over the next three years. “All three will be conducted in spectacular fashion,” he said.
He said the region would be developed into a prime tourism spot to attract pilgrims from across the country. “Additional funds for Sridhar Babu’s constituency are a responsibility I’m willing to take up,” he added.
The Manthani constituency, he said, holds a powerful legacy. PV Narasimha Rao, who led the country as Prime Minister and made India a global economic power, was once elected from this very region. Sripada Rao, too, had earned respect as a public servant. Sridhar Babu, their political heir, had now secured over ₹3 lakh crore in investments for Telangana his role, Revanth said, was undeniable.
He praised officials for the arrangements made for the Saraswati Pushkarams especially the tent city setup to handle pilgrims from far-off regions. “No devotee should face discomfort,” he said. “Everything’s been done beautifully.”
He extended Pushkaram wishes to devotees, closing with praise for the on-ground teams who made the arrangements accessible.
