Hyderabad: Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao held a special meeting at the Secretariat to prepare proposals for setting up Data Centres in the state and directed officials to facilitate investors comprehensively.
He instructed departments to extend full support to companies planning to establish Data Centres. Moreover, he noted that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had reviewed the sector multiple times, indicating the government’s priority focus.
During the meeting, officials examined incentives offered by Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. In addition, they discussed investor demands, including 100 per cent green energy sourcing and open access power procurement.
Data Centres to drive jobs and allied growth
Officials also reviewed proposals for dedicated power supply networks and SGST reimbursement. Meanwhile, departments will study these requests before finalising the policy framework.
The Chief Secretary said Data Centres would generate large-scale employment and stimulate growth in allied sectors. Therefore, he asked officials to align infrastructure and policy support accordingly.
Special Chief Secretary IT and Industries Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary Energy Naveen Mittal, Future City Development Commissioner Shashank and IT Special Secretary Bhavesh Mishra attended the meeting along with senior officials.
