Chief Minister assures priority to Arya Vysya community

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the government would prioritise the Arya Vysya community in nominations and key posts, while assuring them a defined role in governance.

He stated that the government had already extended political representation by allocating one Mayor post and six Municipal Chairperson posts to the community in recent municipal elections.

Speaking at the Vasavi Mahashakthi Mahotsavam organised by the Telangana Arya Vysya Corporation on Sunday, the Chief Minister said the government would ensure a rightful place for the community. He added that their views would shape policy decisions.

Chief Minister highlights Arya Vysya role in governance

He said the government would protect the honour and dignity of the Arya Vysya community. At the same time, he urged members to play a key role in the state’s reconstruction and economic growth.

He noted that even a single Arya Vysya family in a village often held influence. He also praised the community for contributing to national development. Further, he said the community remained disciplined despite limited opportunities.

The Chief Minister said he admired former Chief Minister K Rosaiah. He added that the government had installed Rosaiah’s statue at Lakdikapool to preserve his legacy.

Referring to India’s freedom struggle, he recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s leadership through non-violence. He said Gandhi led movements such as non-cooperation and the Salt Satyagraha to end colonial rule.

He also commended TG Venkatesh for establishing a political presence in the Rayalaseema region.
