Centre approves ₹3,000 crore fertiliser subsidy to benefit 14.6 crore farmers

Hyderabad: The Central government gave farmers festive news on Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a Cabinet meeting that cleared a ₹3,000 crore fertiliser subsidy for cultivators across India.

Centre approves fertiliser subsidy to stabilise prices

Officials said the government wants farmers to buy fertilisers at reasonable prices. The subsidy aims to protect retail rates for products such as DAP and offset sharp price swings in global markets.

The Centre stated that the move would keep fertilisers available throughout the year. It also said the step would boost food security and accelerate agricultural growth.

The decision will benefit 14.6 crore farmers directly. The government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting cultivators and ensuring that farm inputs stay affordable.
