Hyderabad: CBI officers served a notice to former MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha after visiting her residence in Banjara Hills on Thursday in connection with the Delhi liquor scam.
The officials reached her Hyderabad residence during the afternoon to deliver a notice issued by the High Court. The notice directs Kavitha to appear before the court on March 16.
However, Kavitha was not present at the residence when the officers arrived. Therefore, CBI officials handed the notice to her husband Anil Kumar.

Officials also enquired about Kavitha’s whereabouts and when she would return home. Sources said the notice clearly asked her to appear before the Delhi High Court on March 16.
Meanwhile, the CBI issued similar notices to five other accused linked to the case.
The list includes MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, auditor Buchi Babu, Arun Ramachandra Pillai, Abhishek Boinpalli and Sharath Reddy.
The alleged liquor policy case earlier created a nationwide political controversy. Recently, the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court gave a clean chit to former MLC Kavitha in the matter.
However, the CBI challenged that order and approached the High Court. Subsequently, investigators accelerated the probe and issued fresh notices as part of the latest legal proceedings.
