Hyderabad: A private travels bus collided with a chemical tanker on the Macharam flyover near Jadcherla on Thursday morning, triggering a Macharam flyover accident that fortunately left all passengers unharmed. The bus was travelling from Chittoor to Hyderabad with 26 passengers when it rammed the tanker from behind. Moreover, hydrochloride acid spilled onto the road due to the impact, prompting emergency teams to rush to the spot.
The driver reacted quickly and instructed passengers to alight immediately. During the rush, a few suffered minor injuries, but officials confirmed that no serious harm occurred. They said the acid involved was non-combustible, which prevented a fire and helped avert a major mishap on the elevated corridor.

Firefighters neutralised the chemical and secured the affected stretch to ensure safe movement for responders. Additionally, police officers managed traffic on NH 44, where movement slowed due to the emergency clearance work.
Officials arranged another bus to transport the stranded passengers to Hyderabad. They added that the swift transfer allowed travellers to resume their journey without further disruption. Traffic personnel continued to guide motorists on the route, advising caution until the flyover surface was fully cleared.
