Hyderabad: Amid growing concerns over the government’s aggressive anti-Maoist drive, BRS leaders have demanded an immediate halt to Operation Kagar and called for dialogue as the only sustainable path to peace.
Speaking at a roundtable organised by the Peace Dialogue Committee at the Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on Saturday, BRS MLC Dr Dasoju Sravan, representing the party on behalf of BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao, reiterated the party’s commitment to peace, dialogue, and democratic values.
“BRS firmly believes in resolving conflicts through discussion and upholding the Constitution,” Sravan asserted. He recalled KCR’s recent appeal during the Warangal Mahasabha, where he demanded that the Centre stop the unconstitutional violence being carried out under the banner of Operation Kagar and instead embrace democratic and humanitarian values by initiating talks.
Sravan emphasised that the only lasting solution lies in the impartial and fair implementation of the Constitution, which protects the democratic rights and peaceful lives of citizens.

He urged the authorities to reflect on the fundamental reasons that drive people to pick up arms. “No one takes up a gun overnight,” he said, “It’s the cumulative result of deep-seated economic and social inequalities.”
He argued that feudal and oppressive power structures force marginalised communities into desperate paths, with corporate dominance, state repression, and denial of justice leaving them with little choice.
Sravan also highlighted that to prevent people from turning to violence, there must be effective platforms where they can voice their concerns and grievances. “Governments must create a constitutional environment that fosters dialogue and solutions,” he said.
He concluded by echoing KCR’s conviction: “Permanent solutions cannot come through the gun—they can only come through dialogue.”
