BRS issues notice to Rohith Reddy in drugs case

Hyderabad: BRS issued a show-cause notice to former MLA Rohith Reddy over allegations linked to the Moinabad drugs case. The party asked him to respond within seven days.

The disciplinary committee acted after media reports flagged alleged drug use at a gathering near Hyderabad. The former MLA was reportedly present at the event.

The notice directed him to submit a written explanation within the deadline. Party general secretary Soma Bharat Kumar said the move followed instructions from party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The party said any link to such activities violates its values and harms its image. It also asked him to stay away from party programmes and official meetings.

Leaders warned that failure to give a satisfactory reply could trigger disciplinary action. The party said it would act without further notice if needed.

Meanwhile, the government formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the case. The party’s move has drawn attention in political circles.
