Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan on Thursday lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of indulging in “hypocritical theatrics” for commenting on the BJP’s potential nomination of Bandaru Dattatreya, a senior OBC leader from Telangana, for the Vice President post.
In a sharply worded post on X, Sravan mocked Revanth’s public sympathy for Dattatreya, questioning whether it represented the official stance of the Congress or merely a ploy for “cheap headlines.”
He challenged the Congress leadership, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, to clarify whether Revanth’s stand was party policy.
Sravan said if Revanth’s concern for OBC representation was genuine, he should resign and make way for senior OBC leaders such as Mahesh Kumar Goud or Ponnam Prabhakar.
He further accused the Chief Minister of violating the Udaipur Declaration on internal party reform, stifling OBC rights within the Congress, and now feigning concern over a BJP nomination.
Sravan labelled the episode “ridiculous,” asserting that Revanth had no moral standing to speak on the subject after what he described as 18 months of destructive governance.
Crocodile tears!! @revanth_anumula’s heart bleeds for BJP OBC leader Shri Bandaru Dattatreya Garu as Vice President!
Is this Congress’s policy for a Telugu OBC being pitched for the VP post, or just Revanth’s hypocritical theatrics meddling in BJP politics for cheap headlines… pic.twitter.com/YRgTYJpQF5
