BRS MLAs protest in Assembly demanding implementation of farm loan waiver

HYDERABAD: BRS MLAs staged a protest in the Telangana Assembly on Monday, demanding the Congress government fulfil its promise of a farm loan waiver.

Led by T Harish  Rao, the BRS MLAs accused the ruling party of going back on its commitment to waive off ₹2 lakh in farm loans per farmer, as pledged before the elections.

Wearing black badges, BRS legislators attended the Assembly sessions to register their dissent. They asserted that the government had failed to implement the farm loan waiver, which was a key assurance made to the farmers. The protest highlighted the opposition’s call for immediate and complete execution of the ₹2 lakh loan waiver scheme.
