Hyderabad: The death of Jubilee Hills MLA and senior BRS leader Maganti Gopinath has left a deep void in Telangana’s political landscape, with party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao leading tributes to the veteran politician. Expressing anguish over the loss, KCR said Gopinath’s passing was a blow the party could scarcely afford.
Calling him a “quiet force” in Hyderabad politics, KCR remembered Gopinath as a leader who climbed the ladder through sheer persistence and public connect. “He earned the people’s respect with his soft-spoken nature and was always accessible as an MLA. His presence will be sorely missed,” the BRS chief said, recalling the late leader’s long association with the public and his calm yet effective style of leadership.
KCR also acknowledged the efforts of doctors and the party in trying to save him, expressing sorrow that all attempts ultimately fell short. Offering condolences to the bereaved family, he prayed for strength to those left behind and peace to Gopinath’s soul.
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao too voiced deep sorrow, highlighting Gopinath’s work across three Assembly terms for the development of Jubilee Hills. “His contributions to the constituency and his commitment to the party were exceptional,” KTR said, extending his condolences to the family.
BRS Senior Leader T. Harish Rao called the death “extremely painful,” adding that Gopinath’s political journey, marked by steady rise and dedication, would remain inspirational. “His absence will be keenly felt by the party and the people alike,” he said.
BRS leader Dasoju Sravan also joined in mourning, describing Gopinath’s loyalty to the party and commitment to public service as exemplary. “His memory will continue to guide us,” he said in a message shared online.
