Hyderabad: The BRS Assembly walkout was staged on Friday during the 2026-27 budget presentation, as members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi protested against unfulfilled promises and lack of allocations in the budget.
BRS legislators walked out of the Assembly while Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka delivered his budget speech. They said the Congress government failed to honour key electoral commitments and did not provide budgetary support for them.
Soon after the speech began, BRS members intensified their protest inside the House. They wore flowers on their ears as a symbolic gesture and raised slogans against the government.
They criticised the budget and called it a “fraud.” The members pointed to earlier promises such as providing one tola of gold and creating two lakh jobs. They said the budget ignored these assurances.
As the speech continued, the protest escalated, leading to the BRS Assembly walkout from the House. The members said the government overlooked pending commitments in its financial plan.

After leaving the Assembly, BRS MLAs carried forward the protest at the entrance of the legislature. They staged a sit-in and continued raising slogans against the budget.
The legislators said the government failed to address pressing public issues. They also said it did not fulfil promises made to voters during the elections.
According to them, the absence of allocations for key schemes reflected a lack of commitment. They argued that the budget did not respond to public expectations.
The protest underlined growing political friction between the opposition BRS and the ruling Congress during the budget session. It also highlighted disputes over implementation of major welfare and employment assurances.
