BJP national executive president Nitin Nabin to tour Telangana: Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Ramchander Rao on Monday said the party’s national executive president Nitin Nabin would tour Telangana next month. He said the visit would, therefore, intensify organisational efforts across the State.

Ramchander Rao made the statement after meeting Nitin Nabin at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. According to him, the proposed tour would focus on strengthening the party and energising cadres at all levels.

Meanwhile, Ramchander Rao demanded that the State government conduct Assembly sessions for at least one month. He said Telangana faced several key issues that required detailed debate in the House. Moreover, he argued that shorter sessions weakened legislative scrutiny and limited discussion on public problems.

BJP flags Assembly conduct and electoral reforms

At the same time, Ramchander Rao accused the Congress government led by A. Revanth Reddy of diverting public attention to conceal governance failures. He alleged that the government was deliberately raising new issues to shift focus away from people’s concerns.

In this context, he referred to K. Chandrashekar Rao and said the former Chief Minister, now an MLA and Opposition leader, must attend Assembly sessions regularly. He added that portraying his presence in the House as a major event ran contrary to democratic norms.

Further, Ramchander Rao cautioned party leaders against indiscipline. He said BJP members must, therefore, function strictly in line with party ideology and organisational discipline.

On electoral reforms, he said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls should be implemented in Telangana without delay. He claimed that illegal votes linked to Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Rohingya nationals existed in the State and, therefore, needed removal. Only clean and accurate voter lists, he said, could strengthen democracy.

Later, Ramchander Rao said Nitin Nabin had offered guidance on programmes, organisational strategy and steps required to strengthen the BJP in Telangana. He added that coordinated efforts would, in turn, help the party achieve better political results in the State.
