BJP MLA Maheshwar Reddy vows to quit politics if HILT scam claim fails

Hyderabad: BJP MLA Aaleti Maheshwar Reddy on Saturday challenged Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy to resign if the alleged HILT land scam in Telangana is proven true. He asserted that he himself would retire from politics if he fails to establish the claim.

Responding to Uttam Kumar Reddy’s remarks dismissing the allegations as “misleading,” Maheshwar Reddy said he held documentary proof of the land scam. “If I fail to prove the HILT scam, I will retire from politics,” he declared. He urged the Minister to show equal resolve.

HILT scam challenge escalates political row

The BJP MLA stated that he is prepared to present all supporting documents in the Telangana Assembly. He maintained that large-scale irregularities took place under the HILT project and insisted that the government must be held accountable.

The HILT scam challenge has deepened political tensions in the state as parties intensify their attacks and counterattacks. The issue is expected to dominate upcoming Assembly discussions. (NSS)
