BJP alleges goonda raj in Telangana, warns police

Hyderabad: Goonda raj Telangana allegations were raised by BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao, who accused the ruling Congress of fostering lawlessness and undermining democracy. He also warned the police to act impartially and not yield to political pressure.

Rao made the remarks after visiting injured BJP workers at a government hospital in Nalgonda on Wednesday. He said Congress supporters attacked six BJP members in Chandur municipality. Four of them remained under treatment, he added. He described the assault as politically motivated and linked it to local rivalries involving a former BJP candidate, Kiran. He further alleged that a local MLA instigated the attack.

The BJP leader said the party would ensure punishment for those responsible. He assured party workers of full support and urged them not to fear such incidents. “If such attacks continue, there will be strong resistance. We will not rest until the culprits are punished and sent to jail,” he said.

Goonda raj Telangana claims over police role

Rao criticised the police response to the incident. He said officers filed mild cases and also registered counter-cases against BJP workers. According to him, political pressure influenced police actions.

He alleged that Congress leaders were involved in illegal activities, including land grabbing, drug trafficking and running unauthorised liquor outlets. He claimed such activities reflected a broader breakdown of law and order in the state.

Citing incidents in Nalgonda, Peddapalli and Mancherial, Rao said police behaved like Congress workers. He accused them of suppressing BJP leaders across these regions.

Goonda raj Telangana charge linked to past incidents

The BJP president also referred to an earlier incident during municipal elections. He alleged that a DSP assaulted BJP district president Nagam Varshit Reddy at that time. He condemned the incident and said it demonstrated misuse of authority.

Rao asserted that voters would respond strongly in the upcoming elections. He said public anger over such incidents would shape electoral outcomes. He reiterated that the BJP would continue to raise issues related to law and order.

The BJP leader maintained that goonda raj Telangana conditions had emerged under Congress rule. He said the party would intensify its fight against what it described as politically driven violence and administrative bias.
