Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday held a rally in Hyderabad to mark the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda. BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchandra Rao and Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur led the event. They garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda at Tank Bund and paid tribute.
The BJP’s Tribal Morcha organised the rally, which moved from the Vivekananda statue to the Komuram Bheem statue. Addressing the crowd, Ramchandra Rao said BJP and NDA-ruled states would observe Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary throughout the year as a mark of respect.
“We are celebrating his anniversary officially in BJP-ruled states. In others, the party is organising events on its own,” he stated.
Union Minister for Coal Mines G. Kishan Reddy and Savitri Thakur attended the rally as chief guests. BJP leaders, workers, and members of the public also joined the procession.
