BIACH&RI launches silver jubilee celebrations; new cancer care tech inaugurated

Hyderabad: Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI) formally launched its silver jubilee celebrations on Sunday, marking 25 years of cancer care in India. The year-long events began with a ceremonial program at the hospital premises, attended by key dignitaries and medical staff.

Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman of BIACH&RI, unveiled a pylon to commemorate the milestone. Accompanied by Sri Sri Bharath Mathukumalli and members of the trust board, Balakrishna also received donations from fans and supporters during the event.

In his address, Balakrishna acknowledged the role of numerous donors including late Dr. Polavarapu Tulasi Devi, late Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, and N. Chandrababu Naidu, in shaping BIACH&RI into a premier healthcare institution. He announced that the closing ceremony of the jubilee year would be held next year in the presence of both state Chief Ministers.

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha were present as chief guests. The Governor inaugurated a new Linear Accelerator a radiotherapy machine claimed to be the first of its kind in India while the Minister opened a modern Cath Lab for cardiac care.

The celebrations also featured cultural performances and competitions involving hospital staff and students. Winners were felicitated at the event.

BIACH&RI, founded in 2000, has become a leading cancer treatment and research facility in the country.
