Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday said the Telangana government will roll out state-wide land surveys under the newly introduced Bhu Bharati Act from June 2, with a deadline to resolve all revenue disputes by August 15.
Speaking at a Bhu Bharati awareness session in Muppirithota, Eligedu mandal, Peddapalli district, the minister said over 6,000 new surveyors are being appointed to expedite the effort. “Every land parcel will receive a Bhudhaar card tied to its specific survey number,” he said, stressing the aim was permanent settlement of long-pending land issues.
Ponguleti directed revenue officials to work village to village and resolve cases without harassing poor farmers. He also announced that the Congress government will construct 3,500 Indiramma houses annually in every constituency, promising homes for every eligible beneficiary.
IT Minister Sridhar Babu, also present at the event, called the Bhu Bharati Act a model for the nation. He criticised the previous administration for causing hardship to Telangana residents and said the current government has launched multiple welfare schemes despite financial strain. “Not one scheme has been dropped,” he noted.
He reiterated that replacing Dharani with Bhu Bharati was a key poll promise. “We are stabilising the state’s struggling economy,” Sridhar Babu said, also reminding that Congress had stood with Rahul Gandhi’s Operation Sindhoor against the Modi government.
MLAs Vijay Ramana Rao, Raj Thakur, Makkansingh, and District Collector Koya Sriharsha were among those who attended.
