Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka told newly trained civil servants they must strive to be remembered not merely as officers. Instead, he urged them to be genuine public servants.
He made the remarks while addressing the valedictory ceremony at the Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Centre (MCRHRD). At this event, 203 officers from All India and Central Services completed a 10-week training programme. Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and MCRHRD Vice Chairperson Shanta Kumari also attended.
Bhatti urged the officers to ask themselves each day whether their work brought dignity or positive change to someone’s life. “If the answer is yes, then regardless of the difficulties faced, that day can be considered successful,” he said.

He advised officers to act with honesty, courage, humanity, and leadership. Completing the training marked not the end, but the beginning of a career. This career would demand discretion, responsibility, and public trust, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that the officers entered the programme as professionals from various fields. These fields included engineers, doctors, economists, lawyers, and technical experts. They were now stepping into public service with greater respect and recognition.
He cautioned that public service comes with weighty responsibilities, including transfers, pressure, and handling files that impact lives. One negligent decision could have lasting consequences, he said, and stressed the need for timely and committed action.
“Governance involves constant challenges. However, officers must carry forward their work with the conviction that every decision is in the public interest,” he said.
Bhatti called on the officers to serve with integrity, make courageous decisions, and lead with compassion.
