Hyderabad, February 1: The Telangana government has completed the process for the BC caste survey, following a resolution in the Legislative Assembly and the formation of a special commission.
Transport & BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the survey was conducted as per the decision taken by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the state cabinet. On Thursday, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and other ministers held discussions on the classification process. The sub-committee reviewed progressive activities related to the survey.
Meetings regarding the BC caste survey are scheduled for February 2 and 3. The sub-committee’s report will be presented before the cabinet on February 5. The government intends to table the matter in the Assembly for discussion, ensuring transparency in the process.
Minister Prabhakar emphasised that the initiative marks a historic reform in Telangana, aiming to serve as a model for the entire country. Various aspects of the survey were discussed, and further deliberations will take place over the next two days before the Assembly convenes.
