Police uncover revenge plot behind murder
According to investigators, the five accused were close friends. A-1 and A-4 had ongoing enmity with Riyaz and Hashmath, members of cow-theft gangs. Earlier, they had informed police about these gangs’ criminal activities, leading to the arrest of several members.
After getting out on bail, the rival gangs allegedly sought to eliminate A-1 and A-4. Initially, the deceased Shaik Mohisin warned them. However, the group soon suspected him of leaking their whereabouts to the rival gangs. Moreover, they believed he supported the Adil gang financially — a group responsible for murdering A-1’s cousin, Mubarak Sigar, in January 2024.
Motivated by betrayal and revenge, A-1 and A-4 planned the murder with the help of the others. On October 29 around 9 p.m., A-1 to A-3 approached Mohisin at his pan shop in Ghouse Nagar. After calling him outside, they attacked him with knives and a sickle, resulting in his death.
