Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Congress over its planned “Samajika Nyaya Samara Bheri” public rally, accusing the party of hypocrisy and failure to deliver justice to backward communities.
Mocking the event’s title, Sanjay suggested Congress should instead call it “Samajika Anyaya Samara Bheri.” “What moral authority does the Congress have to talk about social justice?” he asked.
“Has the Congress, which ruled the country for over 50 years, ever made a single BC leader the Prime Minister? Did they appoint even one BC Chief Minister?” Sanjay questioned. He further criticised the Revanth Reddy-led government for offering limited ministerial representation to BCs. “Just one BC leader like Ponnam Prabhakar was given a post. What about the rest?” he asked.
He accused the Congress of failing to implement the six guarantees it promised before the Assembly elections and said the party had no moral ground to hold such rallies.
Turning to the ongoing fertiliser issue, Sanjay dismissed claims of a urea shortage in Telangana. He alleged that the state government was fabricating a crisis to tarnish the Centre’s image and distract from its failures in governance.
“The Centre has agreed to supply more urea than what the state asked for,” he said, blaming Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao for misleading the public and being misinformed by bureaucrats.
He claimed the BJP was gaining momentum among rural voters and accused the Congress of playing political drama out of desperation ahead of local body elections.
