Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar marked World Environment Day on Thursday by planting a sapling at Jantar Mantar-1, highlighting the importance of collective responsibility in tackling climate change.
The event, attended by senior officials and staff, was aimed at promoting environmental protection and sustainability. Speaking on the occasion, Bandi Sanjay Kumar underscored the significance of both individual and collective action in conserving biodiversity and ensuring a greener planet for future generations.
To drive home this message, the Minister launched the emotional campaign “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam,” encouraging every employee in his office to plant a sapling in their mother’s name. He urged staff and their family members to participate and share photos and details of the plants with his office. “Planting a sapling in the name of one’s mother is a symbolic yet powerful tribute to her nurturing love,” he said.
He expressed confidence that such simple yet heartfelt initiatives could foster a collective sense of responsibility, leading to greater environmental awareness and action towards a sustainable future.
