Hyderabad: Anti-drug awareness week commenced under the Warangal Police Commissionerate as part of a state-wide initiative by the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau, aimed at making the state free from narcotics.
The campaign, which began yesterday, on Friday, will continue until June 26. As part of the initiative, officials conducted awareness sessions for youth and students gathered at the police parade grounds for International Yoga Day celebrations.
Warangal Narcotics Police Station DSP Saidulu addressed the students and explained the harmful effects of narcotic substances. He urged them to stay away from drugs and outlined the health and legal consequences of drug abuse.
A pledge against drug use was administered during the event. Later, students and officials participated in a photo booth set up with the slogan “I am a soldier against drugs,” an initiative led by the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau.
Warangal Police Commissioner Sanpreet Singh and other police officials joined students at the booth, taking part in the campaign with visible enthusiasm.
