AMARAVATI: Network hospitals suspend services across Andhra Pradesh starting today, citing massive pending dues from the state government.
The decision to suspend healthcare services was taken after repeated demands by hospital managements went unanswered. Various network hospitals had staged protests in the past, urging the government to clear the amounts owed to them. Recently, the Andhra Pradesh Speciality Hospitals Association submitted formal petitions to district collectors, detailing the financial stress caused by the unpaid dues.
The association stated that nearly ₹3,500 crore in payments are still pending. As a result, **network hospitals have suspended services**, saying they are left with no viable alternative.
Sources from the government indicated that during the previous YSRCP administration, approximately ₹2,500 crore in dues had remained unsettled.
