ACB arrests two in ₹15,000 Jakkapur bribery case

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested two officials in the Jakkapur bribery case after they allegedly accepted a ₹15,000 bribe. The arrests took place at the Jakkapur Panchayat office in Narayanaraopet mandal of Siddipet district.

The ACB identified the accused as B. Aruna, Panchayat Secretary, and Dasari Santhosh, a contract Karobar. According to the ACB, the accused allegedly demanded money for forwarding and processing a mutation application. The application concerned two houses in the complainant’s name.

The ACB said the accused initially demanded ₹20,000 from the complainant. However, the alleged demand was subsequently reduced to ₹15,000.

Jakkapur bribery case linked to mutation application

The ACB said the ₹15,000 tainted amount in the Jakkapur bribery case was recovered from Santhosh. Both accused were arrested following the operation. Authorities were producing Aruna and Santhosh before the II Additional Special Judge for trial of SPE & ACB cases in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the ACB continued its investigation into the alleged bribery. The agency said the payment was linked to forwarding and processing the mutation application for the two houses. The Jakkapur bribery case remained under investigation. The complainant’s identity was withheld for security reasons.
