ACB arrests 3 officials for accepting bribe in NIMZ land acquisition case in Zaheerabad

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested three government officials from the National Investment & Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ), Zaheerabad, Sangareddy district, for accepting bribes related to a land acquisition case.

At around 3 p.m. on July 10, ACB Medak Unit caught red-handed the accused officers Special Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) Sri Raja Reddy (AO-1), Deputy Tahsildar Sri Satish (AO-2), and driver Sri Durgaiah (AO-3) while AO-2 was accepting ₹15,000 from the complainant.

According to ACB, AO-1 had earlier demanded ₹50,000 and AO-2 demanded ₹15,000 to process the land acquisition file related to 03-21 guntas at Huselli village under NIMZ. The complainant had already received a cheque of ₹52,87,500. The bribe amount was recovered from AO-2, and chemical tests on his left hand and clothing confirmed contact with the tainted money.

AO-3 had separately demanded ₹1 lakh to expedite the work related to the complainant’s differently-abled brother, which was pending with senior officials.

All three accused were produced before the Special Court for ACB cases in Nampally, Hyderabad. The investigation is ongoing.
