Hyderabad: To ensure the smooth and transparent counting of votes in the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) conducted a training session for counting staff on Friday.
GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO) R.V. Karnan instructed all personnel involved to strictly adhere to the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines during the entire process. The counting is scheduled to take place on November 14 at the Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium.
The first phase of training, conducted at the GHMC Head Office, included counting supervisors, assistants, and micro-observers. Officials explained the step-by-step counting procedures and addressed queries from participants. Master Trainers presented a detailed PowerPoint outlining all relevant instructions from the ECI.

Commissioner Karnan stressed the importance of accurate counting of both Postal Ballots and Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) votes. He directed the staff to thoroughly study the Counting Manual to prevent any procedural lapses.
A second round of training will be held on November 13. Training coordinators Sunanda, Mamatha, and other officials were present at the session.
