Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy welcomed the Union Cabinet’s approval of the 8th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) terms of reference. He described it as a major step toward improving the welfare of Central Government employees.
Reddy thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the decision. He said it shows the Centre’s commitment to raising the living standards of its workforce. The move is set to benefit over 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners.
He noted that the revision would boost morale and increase productivity in government institutions. It would also improve public service delivery and stimulate domestic consumption, helping the economy.
Recalling the 7th PRC in 2016, Reddy said the minimum wage rose from ₹7,000 to ₹18,000. He praised the government’s continued reform approach through the 8th PRC.
