Hyderabad: The Indian Air Force commissioned 244 Flight Cadets, including 29 women, during the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) held at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal on Saturday.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan presided over the event and presented the President’s Commission to cadets of the 216th Course. The parade included a ceremonial march past, impressive flypasts, and aerial displays by Akash Ganga, Sarang, and Suryakiran teams.
Cadets honoured; global presence noted
Flying Officer Tanishq Aggarwal won the President’s Plaque and Nawanagar Sword of Honour for topping the Pilot Course. In his address, General Chauhan stressed the need for technology-driven warfare and joint operations. He also highlighted the importance of integrity, self-reliance in defence, and innovation. The CDS urged the new officers to lead with courage and vision.
Moreover, six officers from the Indian Navy, eight from the Coast Guard, and two from Vietnam received ‘Wings’ after completing flying training. Five officers also received ‘Brevets’ for successfully finishing their navigation course.
To conclude, the Sarang Helicopter Display Team and Suryakiran Aerobatic Team performed a high-energy aerial show. Families and dignitaries applauded the cadets, making the event both memorable and inspiring.
