Worker dies of electric shock at polymer unit in Kothur

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old daily wage worker died after suffering an electric shock at Sai Raghava Polymers Private Limited in Kothur mandal. The incident occurred early Thursday, reportedly due to poor safety standards at the factory.

According to police, the victim, Kush Kumar, had gone to work on Wednesday night. Around 4 a.m. Thursday, he attempted to switch on a motor when he received an electric shock. Fellow workers immediately shut off the motor and rushed him to Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad in a 108 ambulance.

However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.

Family blames management for negligence

The victim’s relatives lodged a complaint alleging that the company had failed to implement proper electrical safety measures at the worksite. They claimed the management’s negligence directly led to Kush Kumar’s death.

Police registered a case and confirmed that an investigation is underway.
