Hyderabad: Wife kills husband following a heated domestic dispute in Shanti Nagar of Mandamarri town in Manchiryal district on Tuesday.
Moin and Avanti, residents of Shanti Nagar, had entered into a love marriage in the past. Initially, their marital life had proceeded smoothly. However, disputes had surfaced between them in recent days.
On Tuesday, an argument broke out between the couple at their house. As the quarrel intensified, Avanti allegedly lost her temper. She then attacked Moin with a knife available at home.
Residents noticed Moin bleeding heavily and shifted him to the Manchiryal Government Hospital for treatment. However, his condition worsened. He died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Wife kills husband amid allegations of harassment
Police registered a case after receiving information about the incident. An investigation was initiated to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal attack.
Preliminary findings indicated that alleged harassment by the husband might have triggered the assault. Although it was a love marriage, there were reports that Moin had been harassing Avanti frequently. As a result, she allegedly committed the crime after being unable to bear the distress, according to local accounts.
Meanwhile, police shifted the body for post-mortem examination. They were preparing to take Avanti into custody for further questioning.
