Web options open for BTech first-year seats in Telangana engineering colleges

Hyderabad: Web options for BTech first-year admissions in engineering colleges across Telangana commenced on Sunday, giving clarity on seat distribution across the state.

Technical Education Commissioner Sridevasena announced that a total of 1,07,218 BTech seats are available in 171 colleges this year. Of these, 76,795 seats fall under the convener quota, with 5,808 seats in 21 government colleges.

The government has newly established one college each under the jurisdiction of Palamuru and Satavahana universities. Private colleges account for 99,610 seats, of which 69,727 are under the convener quota. Two private universities have 1,800 seats, including 1,260 to be filled through the convener quota.

Two private colleges – MNR, Vivekananda, and St. Mary’s – did not participate in the admission process this year after shifting to deemed university status.

Within government colleges, Osmania University has 630 seats in two colleges, JNTU Hyderabad covers 3,210 seats in nine colleges, Kakatiya University has 780 seats in two colleges, Mahatma Gandhi University has 240 seats in one college, Fine Arts University has 160 seats in one college, Agricultural University offers 45 seats, and Veterinary University has 23 seats.

Admissions will be made in 47 engineering branches, with Computer Science and Engineering topping availability with 26,150 seats under the convener quota. CSE (AI & ML) has 12,495 seats, followed by Electronics and Communication Engineering with 10,125, CSE (Data Science) with 6,996, Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 4,301, Information Technology with 3,681, Civil Engineering with 3,129, and Mechanical Engineering with 2,994.

Further, CSE Cyber Security has 1,439 seats while Artificial Intelligence and Data Science has 1,235 seats under the convener quota.

In the first phase of TG EAPCET-2025 counselling, web options are open until the 10th of this month. Certificate verification slots were booked by 95,654 candidates by Sunday evening and 76,494 completed verification. Candidates can complete verification until the 8th.
