Hyderabad: A large-scale cordon and search operation was carried out at Vinayak Nagar Colony under the jurisdiction of Neredmet Police Station, Malkajgiri zone. The operation was conducted under the supervision of DCP Malkajgiri Smt. Padmaja Reddy, IPS.
A total of 140 personnel participated in the operation, including the Armed Reserve force, traffic staff, and dog squad.
According to officials, nearly 600 houses were searched as part of the exercise. A total of 41 undocumented two-wheelers were seized, along with 10 additional motorcycles found without proper number plates. Around 20 litres of illegal liquor was also recovered during the searches.
Speaking on the occasion, DCP Padmaja Reddy said the operation also included a community contact initiative aimed at increasing cooperation between police and local residents.
She advised colony residents to install CCTV cameras in coordination with the police. “This can help in curbing criminal activity and improve overall safety in the neighbourhoods,” she said.
Rachakonda police have been conducting such coordinated checks in various localities to identify stolen property, unregistered vehicles, and illegal activity.
