Hyderabad: Vigilance officials uncovered multiple irregularities during a surprise inspection at the GHMC Deputy Commissioner office in Kawadiguda under the Core Urban Region Economy drive.
The Vigilance and Enforcement City-1 unit conducted the inspection on April 6 at Circle-40 office in Secunderabad Zone. Officials carried out the raid as part of ongoing checks across urban offices.
They found that no officer was available to address grievances during Prajavani. Moreover, only six out of 60 staff members were present by 10:30 am, while others reported late.

Further, officials observed that mandatory displays such as the RTI officer name board and Citizen Charter were missing. In addition, staff failed to maintain personal cash registers and stock records.
They also found that the town planning wing did not maintain a register to track unauthorised constructions. As a result, officials flagged serious lapses in record-keeping and monitoring.
Meanwhile, authorities said the findings pointed to clear procedural violations. Therefore, they initiated further enquiry into the functioning of the office.
Officials urged citizens to report irregularities through the helpline number 14432.
