Vigilance raid finds irregularities at Azampura SRO office in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Vigilance officials found multiple irregularities during a surprise inspection at the Sub-Registrar Office in Azampura under the Core Urban Region Economy initiative.

The Vigilance and Enforcement City-2 unit inspected on April 6 at the SRO office located in Moosarambagh. Officials carried out the raid as part of ongoing checks across urban offices.

They found that 65 documents remained pending beyond the Citizen Charter timeline for 2026. In addition, several staff members failed to declare cash in their personal registers.

Vigilance flags delays, illegal collections and staff lapses

Further, officials noticed unauthorised private individuals working inside the office. Meanwhile, interactions with the public revealed a collection of amounts beyond the prescribed fees.

They also found that mandatory displays, such as the Citizen Charter, were missing. Moreover, CCTV cameras at the office were not functioning.

Officials said these findings pointed to serious procedural lapses and violations. Therefore, they flagged the issues for further action.
