HYDERABAD: A major protest erupted today at Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology (VBIT) in Aushapur, Medchal district, after allegations surfaced that a hostel warden had been secretly recording private videos of female students.
According to students, the warden at the girls’ hostel, named Roopa, was caught filming videos without consent. Some students noticed the warden’s suspicious behaviour and seized her phone. Upon examining it, they reportedly discovered numerous private videos. It was further alleged that these videos had been shared with other wardens.
The revelation led to a large-scale protest by the students on campus, demanding immediate action against the warden and stronger safety measures within the hostel.
