HYDERABAD: A sensational century by 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi helped Rajasthan Royals snap their five-match losing streak in the IPL, securing a dominant eight-wicket win over Gujarat Titans. The match was held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Opting to bowl first, Rajasthan Royals allowed Gujarat Titans to post a formidable total of 209 runs for four wickets. Shubman Gill led Gujarat’s innings with a brilliant 84, while Jos Buttler contributed a solid 50.
In response, Rajasthan Royals chased down the target with remarkable ease, reaching the total in the 16th over for the loss of just two wickets. Vaibhav Suryavanshi starred with an extraordinary 101, supported by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 70. Riyan Parag remained unbeaten with 32 runs, steering the team comfortably to victory.
Mahesh Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan, claiming two wickets.
Vaibhav’s innings was historic as he became the youngest player to score both a fifty and a century in IPL and T20 cricket. His century came off just 35 balls, setting a new record for the fastest hundred by an Indian player in IPL history.
