Hyderabad: A two-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into an open well in the Gaddi Banda area of Suryapet district, Telangana, on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Mahadev, was the son of Gopi and Nageshwari, who had married three years ago.
According to locals, Gopi works as a daily-wage labourer while his wife stays home to care for the child. On the day of the incident, after feeding him, the mother fell asleep with the boy. The child later woke up and, while playing, slipped into the open well.
When the mother woke and found the boy missing, she raised an alarm. With help from locals, the child was pulled out of the well and taken to the government hospital in Kodad, where doctors declared him dead.
