Tummala urges Centre to resolve issues faced by Telangana ginning millers

Hyderabad: Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Sunday held discussions with officials from the Union Agriculture Ministry. The discussions were about the problems faced by ginning millers in the state. He urged the Centre to address the regulatory hurdles that were leading to financial losses for the cotton processing units.

The minister raised the issue with officials from Union Agriculture Minister Giriraj Singh’s office. He sought prompt intervention to prevent disruptions in cotton procurement.

The appeal came after ginning mill representatives threatened to stop cotton purchases from Monday, November 17. They cited unsustainable conditions caused by the Cotton Corporation of India’s (CCI) L1 and L2 pricing regulations.
