Five persons arrested for triple riding and rash driving in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Saifabad Police arrested five persons for triple riding and rash driving after a viral video showed them performing dangerous stunts on a motorcycle near the Secretariat.

The incident occurred on March 29 at around 01:00 hrs when a Pulsar motorcycle (TG 09 K 2918) carried five persons from Telangana Talli Flyover towards the TG Secretariat. Police said the rider drove in a rash and negligent manner without a helmet, thereby endangering public safety.

After the video surfaced on social media, police analysed the footage and registered a case. They booked the accused in Cr. No. 112/2026 under Sections 281 and 125 of the BNS, along with Sections 184, 188, and 128(1), read with 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Triple riding incident traced through viral video evidence

During the probe, police identified the rider as Vaddi Arjun (22) and traced four pillion riders. Subsequently, teams tracked and apprehended all five accused from different parts of Hyderabad.

Police said the accused belonged to different occupations, including a private employee, a student, a Rapido worker, and a mechanic. Despite this, they carried out the act in violation of traffic norms.

SHO A Seethaiah led the operation along with Saifabad Police staff and ensured swift action based on digital evidence. Officers said such reckless behaviour posed a serious threat to commuters on busy roads.

Meanwhile, police reiterated that they would take strict action against triple riding and similar violations. They also urged citizens to follow traffic rules and prioritise road safety.

The case remains under investigation as officials continue to examine further aspects related to the incident.
