Trauma medicine conference highlighted life-saving role, says Governor

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said on Saturday that trauma medicine had become increasingly important as accidents and emergency situations continued to rise. He said timely decisions and clinical skill often determined whether patients survived. The Governor made the remarks at a trauma medicine conference held in Hyderabad.

He attended the national conference on “Trauma & Conflict Medicine” as chief guest. The event was organised by the Society of Acute Care, Trauma & Emergency Medicine Foundation in association with Medicover Hospitals. It was held at the Blue Planet Auditorium in Gachibowli.

The Governor said life-threatening situations demanded speed, judgment and technical precision from doctors. He said the commitment of medical professionals became the strongest force in such moments. Therefore, he stressed that trauma medicine remained central to saving lives in critical care settings.

Shiv Pratap also said Hyderabad had gained international recognition not only for information technology but also for super-speciality healthcare at affordable cost. He described the conference as an important development for the medical sector. Shiv Pratap said such platforms helped strengthen emergency response systems and clinical readiness.

The Governor said the conference had been designed to train and equip medical professionals to manage complex emergencies more effectively. It focused especially on trauma medicine and conflict medicine. As a result, the event brought attention to specialised skills needed in high-pressure medical situations.
