Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi Student Federation (TJSF) staged a protest at the Inter Board office in Nampally demanding immediate action against an unrecognised college.
Led by TJSF president Ramu, students attempted to lay siege to the office on Saturday. A large number of protesters gathered at the premises and tried to force entry.
As some students climbed the main gate and attempted to enter the building, police intervened and stopped them. Consequently, tension prevailed outside the office.
The protesters later staged a sit-in in front of the gate and raised slogans against officials. Police arrested the agitators and shifted them in a special vehicle.
Unrecognised college row over hall tickets
Addressing the media, TJSF leaders alleged that authorities failed to cancel permissions of the unrecognised college. They demanded that officials take immediate action.
They further accused Inter Board officials of denying hall tickets to 300 second-year students. According to them, the delay has put the students’ academic future at risk.
The student body alleged that officials were playing with the lives of students by withholding hall tickets. Therefore, they demanded immediate issuance of hall tickets and permission for the 300 students to write the examinations.
